4 Simple Ways to Exercise in Your Apartment

Going to the gym can be a pain and unfortunately for a lot of us, the temptation to stay home makes this uphill battle even more challenging. This is especially true at the beginning of the year when gym attendance spikes. Luckily, there a quite a few ways to get some great exercise in without the hassles of gym fees or large crowds! Yoga is the perfect way to get a full body workout and to even improve your flexibility! It’s also an exercise you can do while you watch television and all you need is a mat. Push-ups and Planks

Push-ups and planks are an excellent way to work your arms, chest, shoulders, and even your core all at once. Mixing in planks with your push-ups can also be done to change up your workouts over time and shock your muscles.

Crunches and Leg Raises

Nobody likes to do them, but they are one of the best ways to develop core strength. Luckily, crunches and leg raises can be done in a variety of ways and require no space and only a mat if you have hardwood styled floors. Greatist has a lot of wonderful ab workouts that you can try as well!

Squats and Lunges

This is a simple and effective way to work out your lower body. You can do them pretty much anywhere, and if you want to add some difficulty and strengthen your core as well, you can add dumbbells or medicine balls to these exercises.
