RentOne and its subsidiaries and affiliates, including property owners and managers who advertise through RentOne (collectively referred to as “RentOne”) provide information to the public, investors, trade partners and other users of the Internet regarding RentOne communities and other related products and services through the website at www.Rent-One.com (the “Website”).
General Information Collection and Use
RentOne has created and maintains the Website for informational, sales, and communication purposes regarding RentOne communities, services, and other related products and services. While RentOne attempts to keep the information in the Website accurate and up-to-date, RentOne cannot and does not warranty its accuracy or completeness. See Legal Disclaimer.
Even if you do nothing during your visit to the Website other than browse through the site and read information on the web pages, RentOne will nevertheless gather certain information about your visit automatically. This information does not identify you personally, but may, for example, reflect how you found or were directed to or used the Website. In addition, you may at your option provide personal identification or other information through the Website (for example, by way of a request that RentOne send you information via e-mail or regular mail). RentOne gathers your IP address when you use any portion of the Website. RentOne also collects the name and URL of the website that you visited immediately preceding your visit to the Website. RentOne uses this information on an aggregate basis to better understand RentOne’s prospective customers and tenants, and RentOne may disclose this information to business and trade partners on an aggregate basis.
RentOne also uses “cookies” to store your preferences in order to make your use of the Website more productive. A cookie is a small text file, stored in memory on your computer, and store information about your use of a particular website. Rent-One.com utilizes browser cookies to advertise to our site’s visitors across the Internet. We collect Non-Personally Identifiable Information about your visits to our website and your interaction with our products and services. The anonymous information is collected through the use of a pixel tag, which is industry standard technology used by most major websites.
Disclosure and Use of Information
If you provide contact information to RentOne, RentOne uses your contact information to respond to your requests for information or service, for general record-keeping purposes and to otherwise contact you about promotions and available products or services. More specifically, RentOne may use your contact information to mail you RentOne’s newsletter, or other promotional material or notification of special offers. Using you contact information, RentOne may also send you e-mail messages under the following circumstances, among others:
- to respond to an inquiry or request for information;
- to thank you for contacting RentOne;
- to welcome you to RentOne and to its products and services;
- to explain new product offerings and features of our services;
- to notify you of special promotions;
- to communicate with you after leasing an apartment home and your use of our related products and services.
Requests for Services and Rental Applications
You may request information regarding specific RentOne’s communities, apartment homes, unit availability and other related products and services through the Website by submitting the requested contact information. You may not, however, lease an apartment home or any service directly through the Website. Although you may submit a rental application online, no binding contract will exist between you and the property owner until a Rental Deposit Contract & Receipt agreement, lease, or rental agreement is signed by both you and the property owner. Any service request submitted through the Website is merely a request for a property representative to contact you regarding the requested services.
Any information you submit to the Website in connection with a request or an online application will be forwarded directly to the appropriate property leasing manager, who which will respond to your request or have a property leasing manager contact you. RentOne will not use or disclose the information to any party other than the community your requested. The application pages are located on a secure Webserver so that the information you provide is protected by SSL encryption. This prevents others from reading your private information as it travels over the Internet from your computer to our server. We will use your information only for the purposes of processing your application. You are not required to submit your application online; you may instead choose to submit a hard copy application at a community. However, you may find it more convenient to submit an application online.
Third Party Websites
RentOne takes precautions to protect data and information under its control from misuse, loss or alteration. RentOne’ security measures include industry-standard technology and equipment to help protect your information, and RentOne maintains security measures to allow only the appropriate personnel to access to your information. Unfortunately, no system can ensure complete security, and RentOne disclaims any liability resulting from the use of the Website.
Other than as set forth above, RentOne will not otherwise use or disclose any of your personal information except to the extent reasonably necessary to: (i) process your information and to correct technical problems and malfunctions in the Website or the computer systems supporting the Website; (ii) protect the security and integrity of the Website; (iii) protect the rights and property of RentOne and others; (iv) take precautions against liability; (v) respond to claims that your information violates the rights and interests of third-parties; (vi) respond to judicial or administrative process or otherwise comply with applicable law; and (vii) to assist law enforcement agencies in connection with investigations or matters related to public safety.
