Folsom’s Museum of Wonder and Delight: The Folsom Museum of Wonder and Delight will be hosting a Christmas Dreams gallery, featuring marvelous Christmas displays and figurines! This world famous collection of Christmas decorations, toys, and artifacts allows viewers to peer into a world of wonderment and is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The Biggest Show on Snow: The Sacramento River Cats are getting into the holiday spirit this season by transforming Raley Field into a Winter Wonderland! This frosty extravaganza will include an ice skating rink, a 40-foot-tall ice slide, a Christmas tree farm, bounce houses, and an abundance of man-made snow. The events will begin November 20th, and tickets are available now via the Raley Field and River Cats websites.
Sacramento Theater of Lights: The eighth annual Theatre of Lights is a free holiday program presented in Old Town Sacramento, following the annual tree lighting on November 23rd, and lasting until Christmas Eve. An elegant presentation of wondrous lights and colors, spectators will experience a live portrayal of “Twas the Night Before Christmas” along the balconies of K Street. Holidays in the City: San Francisco is famous for its spectacular holiday traditions. The Union Square and Embarcadero ice rinks are already open to the public, and on November 27th the annual Union Square tree lighting will take place! The holiday window decorations throughout Union Square will also display creative decorations and adorable puppies and kittens! Enjoy the shops and attractions at PIER 39, where the gorgeously decorated 60-foot tree adds the perfect touch of beauty to the San Francisco skyline.
Solano County Holiday Festivities: Vacaville, Fairfield, and Suisun City will be hosting a number of exciting holiday celebrations this year including caroling, tree lightings, merchant open houses, live performances, and the arrival of Santa Claus. On December 2nd from 4:30pm to 9:00pm, Downtown Vacaville will be hosting its annual Merriment on Main celebration. Fairfield will host its annual tree lighting on December 5th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm and Suisun City will follow suit on December 6th at 2:00pm with local entertainment around Harbor Plaza on the waterfront. These festivities will have decorations, live entertainment, numerous vendors selling great stocking stuffers, and even appearances from Jolly Saint Nick.
Modesto Celebration of Lights: Modesto’s annual Celebration of Lights is scheduled for Saturday, December 3rd. This family friendly event includes a Breakfast with Santa, the Modesto Farmer’s Market, and Modesto’s annual Holiday Parade. Following the parade there will be the annual tree lighting in what is sure to be a holiday extravaganza.
